Picking A Unique Location for Your Family Photos

Can we normalize taking family photos at more fun places… like Sonic Drive-In?? 🍦🍔📸

I’m hopping up on my soapbox for a sec: family photos should be fun and should actually reflect who you are as a family. A location with personality can bring out so much more you in your photos.

Sure, ice cream is fun (I’m biased), but that might not be every family’s vibe. And let’s be honest… not every family belongs in a golden field at sunset either (even if it’s objectively gorgeous).

The truth is, a “perfect” photo isn’t the goal. Your family’s quirks, chaos, laughter, scraped knees, windblown hair, and snack breaks are the good stuff. Let’s embrace the silly. The real. The unfiltered magic of what makes your crew yours.

So yeah—Sonic, the golf course, your backyard, a roller rink, or your favorite taco truck? Let’s go there. Let’s tell your story, not just pose for it. 💛

Huge shoutout to Shelby, Livy, Hannah and their families for asking me to capture them and their families all the time and for agreeing to allow me try out a new location, boss around the boys and get messy with some ice cream!
